So None Of You Forget.
It's all too easy to become jaded to the real world nowadays. In all honesty, I walked around for eighteen years until I realized that our achievements really aren't the most important things in life. If it hadn't been for a day in August, I wonder how long it'd been for me to get my head out of my arse.
You just have to keep remembering what's really important, that's all.
Having gotten back into academia, I almost regressed back to what I'd been for most of my life - so enthralled with everything that I'd almost become blind to the little things in life. Unwittingly burning out like a candle inside a glass jar, I guess you could say.
It helps to just leave it all behind, if only for a few days: to sit in the middle of nowhere after a sauna and silently watch the snow fall down with someone; to wake up next to someone with a smile on their face and just smile back; to sing and dance like you'll never get to sing and dance again.
... to just be able to be truly, childishly happy sometimes.
Just so you don't forget that life's really just made up of all those little things in life.
